Grantee and Baltimore nonprofit Art with a Heart led the development of a public art project at the Chella and Moise Safra Amigour Home for the Elderly in Ashkelon. Unveiled in late October, the three nine-foot, cylindrical sculptures of mosaic art involved over 1,000 community members in Baltimore and Ashkelon—and further cemented the special relationship between the two places, which have been sister cities for nearly two decades. The sculptures also gave residents of the housing complex the opportunity to take part in shaping what would become permanent fixtures in their daily environment.
